Highlighted changes in the 2014 Oregon Electrical Specialty Code include:

  • 110.26(C)(3) is modified regarding requirements for personnel doors for electrical rooms where service equipment is 800 amps or more. Clarifies that provision does not apply to one- and two-family dwellings and individual multi-family units. Additional construction requirements are located in Section 1008.1.10 of the Oregon Structural Specialty Code.
  • 200.4 is a new model code requirement for the grouping of grounded conductors with phase conductors in enclosures that have multiple grounded conductors.
  • 210.12(C) is a new model code requirement for AFCI devices in dormitory units.
  • 406.9(B)(1) is a new model code requirement that requires an extra duty box hood for receptacles in wet locations.
  • 517.18(B) is a new model code requirement for a minimum of eight receptacles in a hospital patient bed location.
  • 517.19(C) is a new model code requirement for a minimum of thirty-six receptacles for an operating room.
