About the ICC: The International Code Council was developed and established in 1994 as a non profit organization. Their mission was to develop a single set of codes that were both comprehensive and coordinated on the national level to provide uniformity and clarity to all. The ICC was formed from several other smaller code regulating organizations. They create the uniforms codes through a government consensus process. Through submissions and votes, various codes and changes are creating and distributed. Today the International Code Council is comprised of the ICC Evaluations Service (ICC-ES), the International Accreditations Service (IAS), and the Solar Rating & Certification Corporation (SRCC). All of the councils focus their efforts and energies on the construction of safe and affordable structures. Other publications by the International Code Council include but are not limited to the International Building Code, International Fire Code, International Mechanical Code, ICC Performance Code, International Zoning Code, International Swimming Pool and Spa Code, the International Plumbing code and many more!
