Form 107: Stop Notice (Reusable PDF Format)

Product Code/ISBN: 107PDF
$33.95

The Stop Notice is used by subcontractors and materials suppliers to require the withholding of construction funds sufficient to meet claims against general contractor.

The Stop Notice requires verification and is generally filed within 90 days of completion of the entire job -- unless the owner files a Notice of Completion. In that case, the stop notice must be filed within 30 days from the filing of the Notice of Completion.

The effect of the Stop Notice is that the owner or fund holder of the project must withhold sufficient funds to satisfy the stop notice claim. If the stop notice is on a public job, it should be filed with the controller, or any public disbursing officer. If mailed it should be sent by registered or certified mail.
