About the ASHRAE: The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers were first established in 1894 as the American Society of Heating and Air-Conditioning Engineers. They became the ASHRAE in 1959 when they joined with the American Society of Refrigerating Engineers which was founded in 1904.
